We know it can be tough to pass us candy eggs, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies in Easter Baskets. Easter Egg Fillers:
Fruit Snacks: look for organic fruit snacks that don’t have added sugars.
Homemade trail mix: Mix together dried fruits ( Raisins, pineapple, mango and dates work well) and some unsalted nuts ( peanuts, cashews, almonds)
Healthy Cereals: Try low sugar versions such as Cheerios, Puffins or Kix.
Cheese Crackers: Try to find a healthy version such as Annie’s organic cheddar bunny crackers.
Hard Boiled eggs: These might not be as exciting as a chocolate cream-filled eggs, but they’re significantly healthier. A few colored and decorated, hard boiled eggs will look great in your baskets.
Real Carrots: Grab some carrots that still have their green stems attached. Tie them together with a festive ribbon. You can even add individual servings of ranch dressing or hummus for munching on them.
Fake Carrot: Make a fake ” goldfish carrot” with the fun shaped cheese crackers. Simply fill 3/4 of a clear disposable cake decorating bag with the crackers. Decorate the back with a green ribbon to tie off the top. It makes is look like a fun to eat carrot!
