Laser Cavity Detection: Diagnose Cavities At The Earliest Stages

At Westhill Dental, identifying problems and treating them in their earliest stages is one of the most important things we can do for our patients. Secondly, preventing problems is just as important!

Our continuing education and integration of new technologies allows us to do both! Westhill Dental’s goal is to provide minimally invasive and tooth preserving treatment. We have significantly improved our ability to diagnose a cavity in it’s early stages. We have done that by incorporation of the DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection aid into our practice. Both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the American Dental Association have approved DIAGNOdent for the detection of dental caries.

The DIAGNOdent is a state-of-the-art tool that enables Dr. Trenton Paffenroth and our hygienists to accurately diagnose cavities and make treatment recommendations for your care. You are used to traditional diagnostic methods like a Dentist using his explorer to find cavities. The DIAGNOdent is an extremely precise and reliable regarding questionable areas, such as stained or discolored grooves. Also, It gives us a numeric value to the depth of that discolored area. Hence, we can keep an eye on something that isn’t a cavity to make sure it is not changing.
